Recoup systems are suitable for different building types.
Each configuration is designed for optimal energy recovery and simple installation.
(Semi-)detached housing | The standard for every house Bathrooms are typically located on the first floor. In new builds, plumbing can be designed for a vertical WWHR system. In renovation projects, existing pipework may be adapted, or our horizontal solutions provide an ideal alternative.
Depending on local regulations and building ownership, either a vertical or horizontal WWHR system can be installed. Because vertical systems are typically installed outside the building's thermal envelope, some countries only permit them in single-owner buildings. Multi-owner developments, such as apartment blocks, generally require a horizontal solution, although exceptions may apply, for example in student accommodation.
Holiday parks, lodge resorts and bungalow-style accommodations offer excellent potential for waste water heat recovery. Horizontal WWHR systems are ideally suited to these low-rise properties, reducing hot water energy demand, lowering operating costs and improving sustainability.
Hotels are an ideal application for vertical shower waste water heat recovery. With stacked bathrooms and constant hot water demand, Recoup WWHR systems deliver substantial year-round energy savings. By recovering heat from shower wastewater, they reduce energy consumption and hot water generation capacity by up to 40%, minimising peak demand while lowering operating costs, carbon emissions and payback time.
High-use shower facilities offer exceptional potential for waste water heat recovery. Our high-capacity WWHR systems recover heat from wastewater from multiple showers and return it to the hot water system, reducing energy consumption, operating costs and carbon emissions. Ideal for sports clubs, gyms, swimming pools, spas and other leisure facilities with high hot water demand. Read more
To homeowners: lower energy bills without compromising comfort.
To builders and developers: simple, reliable solutions that help create future-proof, energy-efficient buildings.
To installers: fast, straightforward installation and products designed to perform for decades without hassle.
Every Recoup product is engineered to recover energy that would otherwise be lost—simply, reliably, and passively.
Recovering heat is achieved through an innovative mechanical design rather than electronics, ensuring maximum reliability.
Engineered for durability and consistent performance, without wear or maintenance.
Recovering heat is achieved within seconds of every shower cycle without turning it on and off.
Recoup systems recover heat from warm shower wastewater. As the wastewater flows through a double-walled heat exchanger, incoming cold domestic water runs in the opposite direction along the exchanger, absorbing the recovered heat and preheating the cold water supply.
This process achieves heat recovery efficiencies of up to 65%.
