Recoup develops heat exchangers that recover heat from shower wastewater, turning wasted warmth into valuable energy and contributing to the creation of future-proof buildings.
Recoup Europe was founded in 2019 as Counter Flow Products BV. In June 2025, Sanura BV was acquired, significantly expanding our product portfolio. In September that year, Counter Flow Products was acquired by the US-based Kohler Group.
As from April 2026, we operate as Recoup Europe.
We are deeply concerned with the future of our planet. As global demand for energy and resources continue to grow, valuable energy is often wasted without consideration of the long-term consequences. This unnecessary waste is precisely where Recoup focuses its efforts.
Our mission is to contribute to a more sustainable future by reducing waste of energy. We achieve this by recovering heat from shower wastewater and reusing energy that would otherwise be lost.
Our goal is to make shower wasterwater heat recovery (WWHR) a standard feature in every building. By offering high-quality, affordable solutions with a rapid payback period, we aim to make this technology accessible to everyone.
Recoup is committed to supporting a greener world, promoting a more sustainable economy and raising awareness of responsible energy use.
Vertical solutions
Horizontal solutions
Recoup provides innovative products that address one of the largest energy losses in modern buildings. Our solutions help builders, developers, and installers improve energy efficiency and create future-proof buildings. We focus on developing easy-to-install systems that reduce installation time and minimize complexity.
Recovering heat is achieved without auxiliary energy. Gravity alone insures maximum reliability.
Designed for durability and long-lasting performance without the need for any maintenance.
Heat recovery starts within seconds of every shower, with no user interaction required.
Recoup systems recover heat from warm shower wastewater. As the wastewater flows through a double-walled heat exchanger, incoming cold domestic water runs in the opposite direction along the exchanger, absorbing the recovered heat and preheating the cold water supply.
This process achieves heat recovery efficiencies of up to 65%.
