How it works

When you shower, valuable energy disappears down the drain. A Recoup waste water heat recovery system captures that heat from the used water and transfers it to the incoming cold domestic water. This  reduces the hotwater demand and reduces the load on the water heater, saving both energy and costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the VX 2100 be installed in every building?

The VX 2100 is suitable for installation one floor below the bathroom. Depending on local rules and regulations, in high-rise buildings, it is often not allowed to install anything outside of the building envelope. In those situations, our horizontal WWHR systems are a suitable alternative.

We recommend to use a  qualified installer to install the VX 2100.. Proper installation ensures maximum efficiency.

Just as any other drainage system, clogging as a result of hair, soap and other particles, is a risk. We therefore recommend using a hair filter. From normal opertation, a showertube WWHR does not have an increased risk of clogging.

No periodic maintenance is needed for the VX 2100 due to it’s design and self-cleaning capabilities. Once installed the VX 2100 can operate many years without service or maintenance.

With a Recoup showerpipe, any type, the hot water buffer size can be reduced by up to 40%. An instantaneous water heater or any other type will experience a considerable lower load and will use less energy in increase its lifespan.

There are no restrictions on water heater types, the function of the showerpipe WWHR will remain unchanged and equally beneficial for reducing energy consumption.

The system requires no auxiliary power.

All Recoup WWHR systems comply with all relevant European standards regarding health and safety.

Yes, the VX 2100 can be connected in three ways:
A. Connection to both the water heater and the shower mixer (maximum efficiency)
B. Connection to the shower mixer only
C. Connection to the water heater only
